Care guide
Caring for meenakari & kundan jewellery
A few small habits keep enamel bright and gold-toned finishes looking new for much longer.
Last on, first off
Put jewellery on after perfume, hairspray, lotion and make-up — and take it off before you wash up or change. Chemicals and moisture are what dull a gold-toned finish.
Keep it dry
- Don't wear it in the shower, pool, sea or while exercising.
- If a piece gets damp, pat it dry gently with a soft cloth — never rub the meenakari.
- Avoid storing in humid bathrooms.
Store each piece separately
Keep every piece in its own pouch or a lined box so stones don't scratch enamel and chains don't tangle. A small silica gel sachet in the box helps in monsoon months.
Cleaning
Wipe with a soft, dry cotton or microfibre cloth after wearing. Don't use liquid cleaners, toothpaste, baking soda or ultrasonic cleaners on meenakari or kundan — they can lift the enamel and loosen stones.
Kundan & stones
Kundan stones are set by hand. Avoid pressing on them or dropping the piece on hard floors; if a stone loosens, keep it safe and message us.
Adjustable rings
Open or close an adjustable ring slowly and only as much as needed — repeated bending can fatigue the band.
What to expect
This is fashion jewellery with a plated finish over a brass or alloy base. With care it keeps its look for many wears; with sweat, perfume and water it will dull faster. We never claim “anti-tarnish for life” because no plated jewellery can honestly promise that.
